His interest in the complexity of social fabrics and constellations takes Markus Krottendorfer to the places that can be seen in his slide shows and films. The photographs don’t show individual activity as much as they capture collective actions, which merge into an autonomic system under seemingly chaotic conditions. Working with sound enhances the performative character of the shows: varying tunes put the pictures into ever-new contexts and intensify or even compete with them; the performance always retains its experimental character.
In TUCSON II, Markus will show a selection of images from the series JPL Mars Yard, Biosphere II, Casa Grande and Kitt Peak, all USA, 2013.
Accompanying the slide show that will be shown at every full hour, school will propose different tracks in order to analyse the relation between image and sound.
